TCL/LJ 17646: Our client seeks a Corporate Accountancy Manager for an assignment within its Finance Division.

We are acting for a SW London based local authority

The post will be located in Kingston , KT1 and will be for 36 hpw, Mon-Fri, normal business hours.

This is anticipated to be, initially at least, a 2 to 3 month assignment.

Please note that under a special arrangement we have with a leading umbrella company, temps who elect to get paid under this route will receive, in addition to a higher hourly rate of pay, the following benefits which are not available under PAYE:

Essence of role:

Now is an exciting and challenging time to join the Council as we continue to improve services to the community in a time of change. To help with the challenge we are seeking an innovative and strategic thinker to have a major input on the financial service both corporately and to all the Directorates of the Council. You will:

• Lead and inspire staff, ensuring a performance-focussed culture. Ensure that appropriate financial and accounting support and advice is provided to managers and elected members.

• Prepare the timetable for and coordinate the annual budget and final accounts processes.

• Develop ‘top level’ budget monitoring mechanisms.

• Coordinate the preparation of the Council’s capital estimates and programmes.

• Contribute fully to the operational and strategic management of the directorate.

Candidate requirements (*below indicates a requirement that must be CLEARLY EVIDENT FROM YOUR CV, not just your covering letter, to avoid auto-rejection by client):

*Corporate accountancy managerial administration experience within a UK local authority or other large public sector organisation

*Educated to BA degree level

*A full CCAB qualification is essential, together with proven experience in developing and implementing creative financial solutions


UK local authority or other public sector experience advantageous, but not a prerequisite


Any xxx services related experience a bonus and could usefully be stated on your CV
