Healthcare administration assistant The provision of administrative support to the hospital, patients and third parties contributing to the overall care and financial aspects of service within the private hospital in central London Duties
- To liaise with patients, consultants, third parties and the general public on all aspects of admission and care, including scheduling and financial aspects.
- To check credit worthiness and medical insurance cover
- To produce accurate and timely invoices for services received
- To check room availability for admissions
- Book any necessary tests/investigations
- To maintain accurate and up to date information on the databases
- Maintain up to date knowledge on price agreements and billing methods
- To inform patients of procedures prior to admission
- Receive monies/credit transactions and record
- To maintain and file records
- Liaise with embassies regarding facilities and special needs of patients
- Answer telephone and written enquiries
- To undertake rotational role, encompassing all duties within patient administration JOB PROFILE Supplementary Information In order to perform this role to experienced worker standard the post holder will need: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING Good general level of education. Previous experience in similar role Numerate Computer literate Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures Health and Safety procedures
- PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY Resolving queries in a timely manner, seeking assistance as required Identifying potential non payments and referring such cases To correct/investigate any billing/invoice errors or discrepancies
- SPHERE OF INFLUENCE Liaison with consultants, mangers, staff, patients, third parties and general public Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when raising financial issues with patients Exhibit caring attitude in response to payment problems To be efficient and professional in representing the organisation
